ABSTRACT for LAB REPORT

The lab report “The Effect of Living Arrangements on Undergraduate Academic Performance” investigates the correlation between students’ academic success and their living situations. The study focuses on students at the City College of New York, comparing the academic performance of those residing on-campus to those commuting. An anonymous survey was conducted, examining variables such as study schedules, living circumstances, and Grade Point Average (GPA). Results revealed that on-campus students, on average, attained a higher GPA and reported more study hours compared to off-campus students. The study discusses the potential impacts of the living situation on students’ academic performance and highlights the need for more comprehensive research into the influence of various external factors on students’ academic success. The findings underscore the potential benefits of on-campus living arrangements and suggest a need to address the challenges faced by commuting students to improve their academic performance.
