What Effect Did the Loss of School Time Have on Learning in the Pandemic

The pandemic put a pause on all of our lives for the first couple months after being introduced, causing a large learning deficit on children going to school during this time. This study draws data from 15 countries and attempts to calculate the academic hardships brought by the pandemic. The article follows a traditional scientific research paper format, utilizing the IMRAD structure. The introduction section provides context for the study by discussing detrimental effects that the pandemic has had on the learning of children and the progress of their education. The research question and objectives are clearly stated, setting the stage for the remainder of the paper. Also the introduction includes a literature review, providing a background on the topic and highlighting gaps in previous research.
